Details
Our journey begins with a refreshing breakfast in a Tamarugo forest, a serene oasis in the middle of the desert. From there, we continue south towards the Piedras Rojas (Red Stones), a surreal landscape where fiery rock formations contrast dramatically against the turquoise waters of the Salar de Aguas Calientes. A short trek here allows us to get closer to this otherworldly setting, a true photographer’s dream.
Lunch will be arranged with stunning panoramic views, giving you time to savor both flavors and scenery. The adventure then leads us to the breathtaking Altiplanic Lagoons — Miscanti and Miñiques — two shimmering blue gems perched at over 4,000 meters above sea level. Framed by snow-capped volcanoes and untouched wilderness, this is one of the most iconic landscapes in the Atacama.
Before heading back to San Pedro, we pause at the Tropic of Capricorn, one of the Earth´s major latitude lines, to learn about its significance on the southern hemisphere.
