Fogón & Zonda, Vineyard cuisine

Half an hour from Mendoza, you will find yourself in Luján de Cuyo, where Bodega Lagarde is established. This imposing vineyard and its landscapes deserve a blog post of its own, so we will focus on its main restaurant, Fogón.

You will get to the restaurant through the winery store, where you can also taste food and drink Lagarde’s wine. In its hall, with high ceilings and with the kitchen seen at the end of it, you will have the possibility of choosing between two tasting menus, both with pairings from the winery itself, and a menu that clearly focuses on magnificent grilled Argentine meats. As its name suggests, Fogón’s cuisine is based on a combination of various fire cooking techniques -sheet metal, embers, grill, flame and ovens- with native ingredients.

You can either choose a 4-course menu or a 7-course one. Fogón is open for lunch everyday from 12:30 a 18:00, and for dinner from 20:30 to 01:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Zonda, a different space with a Michelin Star.

The restaurant is a dynamic space that not only has the classic MICHELIN Star, but was also awarded the MICHELIN Green Star for its sustainable cuisine and its eco-responsible vision.

Zonda is based on the assumption that good cuisine begins in the land, in the natural products that it gives us and in the hands of the farmers who take care of it. Unlike Fogón, at Zonda the menu is experienced from the harvest of the ingredients, accompanied by the farmer in charge. It will be followed by a Cuyano cuisine experience, reflected in a menu with soups, beef and vegetable dishes and, finally, dessert: all accompanied by a wine pairing that will depend on the chosen tasting experience: Landscape Experience, Zonda Experience, Cuyano and Gilanco.
